Delta Dallas Events Series 2009 Your Questions and Comments:
March 6, 2009 by admin
For those who were part of our first event of the Event Series 2009: Getting In The Game, we would like to hear your comments and questions. We have asked our guest speaker, Don Dalrymple, President/Founder of AscendWorks if he would be willing to answer any questions pertinent to his speech and he has graciously accepted. So feel free to use the space below to post your comment or question.

I spend much of my time online, but I have resisted the whole Web 2.0 applications because they seemed ’silly’ to me. But Don helped me realize that I need to get past my personal hangup on this if I really do care about people and want to connect with them. So be it! I’m going to do it until I’m comfortable with it.
It seemed that quite a bit of the audience missed the most important aspect of what Don had to say: it wasn’t techniques or tools, it was MOTIVE. Care about people… think about what you are trying to accomplish from the perspective of the other party. We are all so selfish by default. I’m glad to see Don pushing people to think about situations from the other person’s perspective. The resulting actions and decisions will be more effective and better. (See Covey’s “Third Alternative.”)
Thank yo so much for inviting me as your guest to the luncheon. I very much enjoyed meeting everyone and the speaker was great. He gave us a lot to think about. The food was excellent and I hope to be invited to more luncheons in the future.
Thanks again,
Cyndy Walters
WOW! I was so excited to see a room full of amazing people. Hearing about the new economy and Tribal connections gives me hope that partnering relationships and bringing value to each other is the way of the future. Learning new things is a way of life at Delta Dallas and what a great venue to spread information that can help us all grow both personally and professionally. Meetings like this challenge me to be the best that I can be and to welcome change!
